Language Arts provides the reading and study skills that give students an important advantage in middle school and high school. Students double their reading speed, improve advantage comprehension and vocabulary, and learn effective strategies for reading, studying, and taking notes. As a result, they are able to tackle difficult materials with confidence, and get through homework assignments in less time.
The program makes a lasting impact, allowing each student to unlock their full potential as a reader. Students learn to take active control of their reading, and achieve new levels of understanding, engagement, and enjoyment.
Fundamental Math - Fundamental Math covers basic topics in general math. Topics include ratio and proportions, probability and variables and real-world problems. Also covered are basic equations, integers, composite and prime numbers, decimals, scientific notation, percents and basic geometry principles. This leads up to courses
for algebra.
Algebra I - Our Algebra I course prepsres our students for the topics they will encounter in high school Algebra from equations, quadratic equations to polynomials. The goal of this course is to further develop students’ understanding of mathematics while preparing them for the next year of study.
HSPT-Prep Course - The HSPT-Prep Course is a comprehensive mathematics and verbal reasoning review for the HSPT (High School Placement Test). Students in 7 th and 8 th grade will learn a deconstructive approach to confidently approach the exam, and then apply these techniques to practice questions inside and outside of class.
Because we know the importance of technology in our global economy, we work to integrate technology into our core curriculum instilling in our students the drive to push the boundaries of discovery so that they become pioneers creating innovative solutions to improve our lives and to make our planet cleaner and safer.
Art - Budding artists have the opportunity to explore their creativity. Students will undertake various projects and build an impressive art portfolio. Students’ work may include drawing, painting, paper maché, collage, or creative projects using recycled materials.
Instrumental Music - Our school provides an instrumental music program sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington. Students may receive instruction in percussion, woodwind, string, and keyboard.
Choir - Our music courses are an introduction to choral music and will appeal to a broad range of students who may have no experience singing in a school, church, or community choir. The program offers young singers an enriched musical experience, where they will learn an exciting repertoire and receive exceptional vocal instruction.
Liturgical Dance - The purpose of this ministry is to teach the principles of God’s Word as it relates to movement.
Instruction focuses on how to begin, maintain, and progress in ministry, and how to apply the Word of God to their everyday lives. As a ministry, we strive to show the full glory of God to touch the hearts of all people.
